Huangyi Bridge (also known as Huangni Bridge) is located over Huanshan River, on Luxun West Road, and at the west of Cnagqiao Straight Street. It is a semicircle stone arch bridge. The documents about Huangni Bridge appeared as early as in Southern Song Dynasty; then in Qing Dynasty the bridge was named Wangyi Bridge and later named Huangyi Bridge. This bridge was rebuilt in 19 years Daoguang (1839). The sides of the bridge carve its name, and some other information: the bridge was rebuilt in 19 years Daoguang, renovated by the locals. In November 2017 this bridge was   listed in Shaoxing Cultural Relics ProtectIion Point.

     Huangyi Bridge is parallel and next to Luxun West Road. Though still exists and able to walk across, the bridge does not have so much function in transportation as it used to do. There are some old-styled houses near the bridge; a local restaurant Huangyi Restaurant is located near the bridge as well.

     Next to Huangyi Bridge is Shizi (Lion) Bridge, located on Luxun West Road.

     Huangyi Bridge and Fengyi Bridge

     (In Chinese, “Feng” and “Huang” mean phoenix.)

     Because both bridges are named after the same Chinese idiom which means “the phoenix has appeared” as a symbol of happiness and luck, sometimes Huangyi Bridge is mistaken for Fengyi Bridge. But they are different bridges. Fengyi Bridge was also named Aolai Bridge; it used to be on the north of Fengyi Alley, but now it had been demolished.
